A LARGE NUMBER OF SCENES AROUND THE CAPE ANN AREA KNOWN AS PIGEON COVE WERE TAKEN. SOME PARTS OF PIGEON COVE WERE DEVELOPED BY EBEN PHILLIPS INTO SUMMER SUBDIVISIONS AROUND A MILE LONG ROAD (PHILLIPS AVE.). WELL-KNOWN VISITORS SUCH AS RALPH WALDO EMERSON, CAME TO PLACES LIKE THE PIGEON COVE HOUSE FOR SUMMER VACATIONS.
